The Centre of Advanced Studies on Contemporary China has been set up in Torino by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for the Environment and Territory and the Ministry of Productive Activities, by the University of Torino, the Politecnico of Torino and the University of Eastern Piedmont, by several local administration bodies, by some of the most important Italian banks and cultural foundations, by a number of private enterprises and institutions. CASCC’s main activities focus on issues dealing with Chinese economical and political development, Chinese law, Chinese contemporary culture, language and society. In these fields the CASCC carries out research projects in cooperation with academic and private research institutes. With regard to post-graduate education, the CASCC acts to train researchers with specific skills both in the field of Chinese Studies and in law, economy, political sciences, linguistics and so forth. The CASCC aims at meeting the demand of the Italian enterprises offering specific knowledge and information on different issues of contemporary Chinese market and society. CASCC publications planned for the coming years cover a wide range of topics; the forthcoming issues will deal with Chinese energy policies, Chinese government bodies, Chinese tourism abroad. |
